The Butcher and the Loyal Dog
There was once a butcher who lived in a small village. He had a loyal dog named “Barq.”
Every day, Barq accompanied the butcher to the market, guarded the shop, and sat quietly beside him all day long. The villagers loved the dog because he never harmed anyone and always protected his owner faithfully.
One night, the butcher returned home very tired and forgot a bag of money inside the shop. After midnight, a thief tried to steal the money, but Barq quickly woke up and barked loudly. The thief attempted to silence the dog, but Barq attacked him and prevented him from escaping until the neighbors woke up and caught the thief.
The next morning, the butcher learned what had happened. He hugged his dog and said:
“Loyalty cannot be bought with money; it appears in times of hardship.”
From that day on, the villagers used Barq as an example of faithfulness and loyalty.
