Mbappé Apologizes After Accidental Strike on Fan During World Cup Warm-Up

During the pre-match warm-up ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 clash between France and Paraguay, France captain Kylian Mbappé was involved in an unexpected incident when a shot from his shooting drill accidentally struck a Paraguayan supporter in the stands.

The forward immediately reacted by approaching the fan to apologize in person, ensuring the situation was quickly de-escalated. His gesture was well received, reflecting his reputation for sportsmanship and quick response in similar situations.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred for the French star. During the 2022 World Cup, ahead of the semi-final against Morocco, Mbappé also struck a spectator with a shot during warm-up and later went to check on the affected fan.

The Real Madrid forward has been in outstanding form throughout the tournament, scoring six goals so far and continuing his pursuit of the Golden Boot, a title he previously won at the Qatar 2022 World Cup. He remains central to France’s ambitions as they prepare for a high-pressure knockout match in Philadelphia’s intense summer conditions.
